Hi, I’m Maria, the grower and designer behind The Flower Forager!
I have always been inspired by the simplicities and intricacies in nature. From watching magnolia trees bud to apple blossoms blooming, I constantly take inspiration from what is naturally occurring around me.
I got started in the floral industry close to a decade ago and have learned so much and pivoted a few times in terms of what I want to offer clients. I began working in flowers through conventional florist shops and gradually moved away from that. I found that for me, I have a greater connection and satisfaction in what I give others when I play a hand in growing it myself. I have completed both Lisa Mason Zeigler’s “The Gardener’s Workshop” in 2019 as well as Erin Benzakein’s Floret Workshop in 2022. I am both a grower and a designer and cannot imagine playing one role without the other.
I started The Flower Forager in 2018 when I realized there was something missing in the floriculture market, and that something was wildness. The reason behind the name, is every piece of mine includes either greenery or a floral that has been foraged and incorporated into your piece to make it a little bit wild. I believe we all have something to learn from nature and I love bringing that to light in the work I do.
